Audio Systems

We’ve taken a common sense “building block” approach to our audio systems in order to make them scalable to meet the demands of both small and very large requirements. Many varieties of Standalone, Integrated or Distributed Audio applications are achievable with a minimal number of core components. Creative “user intuitive” programming options built into the AX Series panels simplify the most complicated multi-channel audio applications making them “enjoyable” instead of “stressful.”

Regardless of whether the source of the audio signal is generated by our on board digital signal processor or is “live” voice, the signal is crisp, intelligible and of the highest quality. Choose from a library of Wave file based messages to program into the system or create custom messages easily with our “user intuitive” tools.

Audio Panels and Modules include: Distributed Audio Booster: AV-VB; Audio Panel with Microphone: AV-VBM; Integrated Audio “V” Series: AX-CTL-1V, AX-CTL-2V and AX-CTL-4V; Configured Command Centers: AX-CC1-16, AX-CC2-16 and AX-CC4-16; Modular Command Centers: CCM-01 and CCM-02; and Data Gathering Panels: AX-DGP and AX-DGP-FACP.

Fire Fighter Telephone System

Fire Fighters depend upon Fire Telephone Systems to be reliable, robust, independent communications systems that are dedicated to serve them in an emergency. Taking a page out of the past, our systems provide the Command Center operator with a “switchboard operator” display that makes connecting, holding and switching phone calls easy. For the Fire Fighters in the field, confirmation is provided to them at their individual field telephone stations when they are connected to the Fire Telephone Network. Field telephones and telephone jacks are addressable and the telephone risers are fully fault tolerant meaning that they will work should a short or open circuit occur in the field wiring.

Telephone System Components include: Addressable Telephone Jack: AV-JACK; Array of Addressable Fire Fighter Telephones/Cabinets: AV-TEL Series; Portable Fire Fighter Handsets: AV-PHONE; and AV-TEL single and multiple risers.

Options include programmable keys, vandal resistant mounting kit and a weatherproof kit with built in 24 volt heater. The D9068P Digital Communicator transmits in both SIA and Contact ID formats.

Powerful AX-ASW-16 Switch/LEDs and/or AX-I/O-48 LED Drivers (up to 16 per panel) allow for programming not only the switch action preferred but also the blink rate of any red, yellow or green LED. Performance and response is not affected in maximum network configurations of up to 200 AX Series Fire Panels.

Both Style 4 and Style 7 fire network applications can be accommodated by our AX-NET4 and AX-NET7 network interface modules. Ad-Net-Plus networking supports up to 200 nodes with each AX Series panel providing detailed network diagnostics including historical data trace and wire status. Should Fiber Optic communication between nodes be required, the AX-MOXA module is available.

Other modules include: AX-MDM 24 volt Modem (Use with Virtual Panel Software for off-site status and diagnostics); AX-CTY City Tie Module; AX-RL4 and AX-RL8 high current relays; AX-LPD and AX-NAC Signaling Line Circuit and Notification Appliance Circuit Expanders; AX-012 Thermal Strip Printer (which can be mounted inside an AX Series Panel and is battery backed up); AX-BMS provides BMS/Graphics Interface (supports network printer, Ad-VIEW Graphics and 3rd Party Building Automation Packages)

Power Supplies

The AX Series power supplies are compatible with 120 Volt and 230 Volt AC sources, are microprocessor controlled and employ the latest switching technology. The AX-PSU is an optional power supply that expands the available 24 volt system auxiliary supply by up to 5 amps for use with system peripherals, option modules and accessories. The AX-PSU is fully compatible with all of the AX Series Fire Panels. The AX-PSU-6 provides 6 amps total and includes a built in, temperature compensated battery charger.

Models AX-PSN-64 and AX-PSN-106 are standalone Power Supplies/NAC Expanders that come with a built in synchronization feature for ADA Strobes. They are ideal for retrofit applications since they are compatible with most commonly available Notification Appliance Devices on the market. The AX-PSN-64 is rated at 6 amps and has 4 supervised outputs and the AX-PSN-106 is rated at 10 amps and has 6 supervised outputs.

Intelligent Detectors, Pull Stations & Modules

Our detectors contain 5 programmable response mode settings for optimizing sensitivity and response in virtually any environment. Multi-sensors can be programmed to generate an early warning signal upon the onset of smoke or rate of rise in temperature or to a specific temperature setting. Built-in sophisticated algorithms reject false transient signals and provide drift compensation to ensure constant sensitivity. Since the address setting is set in the detector base and not in the smoke head, our systems prevent common misplacement errors (for example mixing the various types of detectors or identifying inappropriate sensitivity settings) that occur during periodic cleaning. Pull stations come with an integral LED and Form-C contact as standard, and incorporate a toggle switch to facilitate testing.

There is a wide range of input, output and combination input/output modules to choose from. Specialty modules include: priority interrupt input modules for ultra-fast response; dual 120 Volt 4 amp relay output/input module for fan motor/damper switch applications; dual relays; NAC modules; isolation bases and modules (for true Style 7 requirements) and more. Specialty detectors include Intelligent Air Duct Detectors and loop powered (2 wire only) Intelligent Beam Detectors. All Intelligent Detectors and Modules communicate with the AX Series Panels over a high speed digital communications circuit that is resilient to environmental noise.

Graphics and PCs

UL864 9th Edition PCs are available in either desktop or 19 inch rack mount options. We offer an “All-in-One” fan-less, touch sensitive, lightweight aluminum desktop computer that may be powered from either 115-230 Volts AC or 9-32 Volts DC. The Ad-VIEW color graphics package provides a simplified interface to help facility managers, guard staff and emergency responders assess alarm situations. AutoCAD compatibility, color coded real-time status indications, built-in event prioritizing, one-touch event re-trace and selectable “take action” instructions are just a few of the many great features of this industry leading graphics package.

IP Gateway

This product has received rave reviews since first introduction from our customers, facility owners, facility managers and AHJs. Taking full advantage of internet technology, the IP Gateway can send email notices or customized text messages regarding the current status of a single AX Series fire panel or an entire network of AX Series fire panels to one or multiple authorized personnel. Any status event that occurs in the system, whether it is an alarm, trouble, supervisory, warning, disabled device or other type of off normal event activity can be communicated instantly.

IP Gateway also includes a wide range of passive diagnostic features including: voltage and current readings of all system wiring, earth fault detection, monitor of temperature inside an AX Series Fire Panel Enclosure, Battery Cell and Voltage Status as well as Battery Charger Current and Voltage, View Panel and/or Network History Files, read detector sensitivity and mode settings, read heat detector temperature, view status of all system switches and so much more. This product is being regarded as a “game changer” that the industry has been waiting a long time for. The wait is over!

Virtual Panel

The Virtual Panel Tool has been primarily developed with the Service Company in mind. Essentially, Virtual Panel mimics onto a PC monitor, in real time, an identical copy of an AX Series Fire Panel display and keyboard. Unauthorized access to off limit functions is prohibited, while allowing for local or remote site status interrogation and diagnostics evaluations. Technicians/Engineers fully trained on the AX Series Fire Panels immediately recognize and take advantage of the many benefits provided. Yesterday, it was mandatory for technicians to travel to site to investigate trouble reports. Today, with tools like IP Gateway and Virtual Panel, travel in many instances, is no longer required.

Loop Power Technology

We are excited to bring to the North and South American markets, technology that has been battle tested and proven in the European, Middle East and Far Eastern markets over the past 15 years. No longer are the fire panel’s loop circuits (commonly called SLCs or Signaling Line Circuits) restricted to supporting certain types of intelligent devices commonly found in the fire industry. With a significant increase in available power available through the SLCs, new possibilities become possible.

For example, our intelligent AX-BEAM detector can be wired directly onto our loops without the need for additional 24 volt power. Specialty smoke detector bases include both audible sounds (up to 14 different sounds and 7 volume settings) and either Red or Yellow warning indications, plus support any of our AX Series Smoke Detectors, again without need for additional and separate 24 volt power. High dB output volume horns and combination horn/strobe devices can also be attached to the panel’s loop circuits directly. Low cost, multi-color beacons for various applications are available. True Style 7 performance can be achieved for applications requiring this high protection specification, without significant cost penalty.

Our SLCs provide a steady voltage and high current under all conditions including during loss of AC power and operation from backup batteries. This is critical in preventing false alarms and exceeds regulatory requirements. SLC drivers can handle virtually any type of wire and wiring from multiple SLCs in close proximity do not corrupt critical system communications. Our customers are enjoying the tremendous benefits in material and installation time savings that Loop Power Technology provides as well as enjoying the many benefits of approaching new applications and providing superior solutions.
