The Ax Device Series
Ax series intelligent analog fire devices offer a wide range of capabilities to suit virtually any commercial or industrial application. Working in conjunction with the Advanced Ax Series fire control Ax Detector & Interface Rangepanels, premium protection is provided. Ax detectors readily adapt to changing environments and protect against unwanted false alarms
.

Each detector in the Advanced Ax range has dual LED’s providing 360° visibility in an alarm condition and has the option to configure an ‘individual’ or ‘all’ detector blinking scheme. The detector series operate in one of five response modes, which can be selected from the control panel. The response characteristics of the detectors have been carefully set so that the detectors will comply with the requirements of the relevant part of UL268/521 in all response modes. Mode selection depends on application.

Ax intelligent I/O interfaces are easy to install, well protected and modular in design. Systems can be engineered simply and effectively without the need for custom designed equipment.

Detector Range
Ax-Optical Detector Optical Smoke Detector (Ax-58000-600ADV)
The Ax optical smoke detector is suitable for slow burning or smoldering fires and should be positioned where these are most likely to occur. They can be set to a sensitivity mode via the Ax range of control and indication equipment which best suits the application
.
Ax-Heat Detector Heat Detector (Ax-58000-400ADV)
The Ax heat detector, distinguishable by the low airflow resistant case, uses a single thermistor to sense the air temperature around the detector. This type of detector is particularly useful where the environment is dirty or smokey under normal conditions.
Ax-Multisensor Multisensor Detector (Ax-58000-700ADV)
The Ax multisensor detector comprises optical smoke and thermistor temperature sensors whose seperate amalog values are intelligently combined. As a result, the multisensor is useful over a wide range of applications and is highly immune to false alarms.
Ax Ionisation Detector Ionisation Smoke Detector (Ax-58000-500ADV)
The Ax Ionisation detector is suitable for fast burning, flaming fires and should be positioned where these are most likely to occur. They can be set to a sensitivity mode via the Ax range of control of control and indication equipment which best suits the application.

Ax Advanced Beam Detector (Ax-55000-265ADV)
This SLC loop driven device comprises a transmitter, a receiver, an interface and optionally, one or more reflectors. The beam detector is designed to protect large and open spaces such as atriums, museums, warehouses and factories. The transmitter and receiver are designed to be fitted on opposite walls approximately 1ft to 2ft below the ceiling and they can protect areas up to 300ft long and 45ft wide, a total of 13,500ft².

Ax-Standard Base

Ax-Quick Fit Base

Ax Mounting Base Range
The Ax Address card and Mounting base provides a unique, patented addressing method whereby the address is set by simply removing the ‘plastic tabs’ on the card according to a chart supplied with the base. The coded card is then inserted into the side of the base where it locks into position.

The Ax-Address card simplifies and speeds up the installation and commissioning process providing accurate addressing of the system making it easier to swap over devices and prevent double address issues period.

Pull Station (Ax-APS*)
The Ax Pull Station range is a family or versatile, analog addressable, high quality, metal Pull Station for Fire Alarm (Red) and other input signaling requirements. They can be addressed at the commissioning stage by means of a seven-segment DIP switch. When operated, the Pull Station incorporates a maximum of 3 second response time.

Interface Range
Ax Mini Priority Switch Monitor Module (Ax-55000-830ADV)
Designed to monitor the state of one or more single-pole contacts connected over Class A or B wiring. Reports open and ground-circuit trouble on the sub-circuit. The device incorporates an interrupt facility to give the fastest response to the Ax Analog control panels. The product is designed to fit into a single-gang electrical box.
Ax Mini Switch Monitor Module (Ax-55000-831ADV)
Designed to monitor the state of one or more single-pole contacts connected over Class A or B wiring. Reports open and short-circuit faults on the sub-circuit and the product is designed to fit into a single-gang electrical box.
Ax Switch Monitor/Dual Switch Monitor Module (Ax-55000-805)
Designed to monitor the state of one or more single-pole contacts connected over Class A or B wiring. Reports open and short-circuit faults on the circuit and is used to monitor equipment where a response is required. The product is mounted on a plastic mounting plate for use with a 4” electrical box.
Ax Priority Switch Monitor Module (Ax-55000-806ADV)
This product has the same functionality as the standard Ax Switch monitor module, but incorporates a priority interrupt facility to give the fastest response to devices such as manual pull station. The product is mounted on a plastic mounting plate for use with a 4” electrical box.
Ax NAC Control Unit (Ax-55000-825ADV)
This unit is designed to monitor and control one circuit of alarm sounders or voice speakers powered by an external DC supply. The module incorporates a synchronization facility which allows the outputs of groups of modules to be synchronized by commands from the Ax series control panels. The product is mounted on a plastic mounting plate for use with a 4” electrical box. Class A or B wired circuit.
Ax Switch Monitor Input/Output Module (Ax-55000-820ADV)
This unit provides a loop-powered relay, a monitored input and an unmonitored opto-coupled input. It can report trouble, switch open and switch closed levels. The product is mounted on a plastic fascia plate for use with a 4” electrical box.

Advanced Ax devices are designed to be operated with the Advanced Ax control panel series that makes full use of their features.
